Join Wild Element for our monthly Wildcrafting Wednesday series—an engaging meetup where nature enthusiasts gather to learn a new wildcrafting skill each month. In May, we’re focusing on creating pinecone firestarters using all-natural, non-toxic materials.
These eco-friendly firestarters are perfect for igniting your campfires, fireplaces, or backyard fire pits. Crafted from sustainably gathered pinecones and natural waxes, they offer a safe and effective alternative to chemical-laden fire starters.
What to Expect:
Guided instruction on selecting and identifying suitable pinecones for firestarters.
Hands-on experience in crafting your own set of pinecone firestarters.
Tips on sustainable gathering practices and responsible use of natural resources.
Each participant will leave with a set of handcrafted firestarters and the knowledge to make more at home.
What to Bring:
Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
Notebook and pen for taking notes, if desired
Water bottle
The Wildlife Pub will be open before, during, and after the workshop for food and beverages.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals interested in sustainable living and nature-based crafts. Hot wax will be used to complete the wildcrafting project. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today! We look forward to crafting with you.
